Disneyland is fondly known as the Happiest Place on Earth. The park that Walt built holds a special place in the heart of Disney fans. Over 600 million people are said to have walked down Main Street in the 62 years the park has been open.

Over the years attractions have come and gone but the magic of the park has never changed. There's a lot to see, do and explore when you visit Disneyland. Around every corner there's an Easter Egg or two to find. So many of the attractions have their own story to tell.

20. It Took Only One Year To Build

The ground was broke for Disneyland on June 16th, 1954. Almost exactly one year later on June 17th, 1955 the gates were opened.

It was such a tight deadline that construction workers were still painting and hammering right up until the opening day television broadcast started.
