Wizard loving Muggles come together to celebrate everything Hogwarts.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort is a world of magical schools, fire-breathing dragons and magical beverages. There is no place like it for fans of Harry and his friends.

For the past four years, Universal Orlando Resort has hosted a three day event to celebrate the making of the Harry Potter films - a fan convention where muggles come together to enjoy the world created for them, both on screen and in print by J.K. Rowling.

This year's event will be running from January 27th to 29th and is promising more magical fun than ever before;

Attending the convention grants you the rare opportunity to hear first hand from the stars of the movie and those involved in the making of Harry Potter. Prepare to be be drafted into your House and truly be transported to Hogwarts in a way the books and movies could never achieve... the only place you can actually taste butter beer, pumpkin juice and gilly water.

It's a chance to learn wand combat, take part in some Harry Potter film trivia and for the first time VR technology will be used to transport guests into the world of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Universal Orlando have already announced two of the stars of the movies who are set to appear on the panels. Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) will be making a return this year and for the first time ever, Warwick Davis will be there.

There's a lot to be excited about for this year's event. Let's break it down...

8. The Opening Ceremony

Each year Universal begin the event with a spectacular opening ceremony. Last year we were treated to fireworks, stars from the movies, announcements and a tear-jerking video montage to the late Alan Rickman.

Universal are already teasing that this year's opening ceremony will contain a big news announcement. Speculation has begun, could it be a projection show or even a third area at the Orlando parks?

On the same night as the opening ceremony there will be an exclusive event for anyone who has purchased a vacation package to attend the event. Holders of the package will get free desert and Butterbeer, as well as accessing the Harry Potter Wizarding World areas without regular guests being allowed through the doors.
