9 Words That We Need To Stop Using Immediately

Your mate isn't a "legend", he just drinks a lot and waves his shirt around his head.

We humans are notoriously incapable of looking after things that were freely given to us. Our hair, the planet, talkback radio - we manage to ruin everything we get our grubby paws on because we just can't help ourselves. One oft-overlooked victim of people's carelessness is the English language (and probably other languages too but let's stick with the one we're using just now). We've been abusing it for as long as we've been using it and it might be time for a careful reexamine. A reordering of our word-house. A vocabulary spring clean, if you will. Some words have either long outstayed their welcome, some words have been misused for so long that they've lost their original meaning, some words should never have been allowed to seep into the common consciousness in the first place - whatever, they all need to go. Prepare to remove some stuff from both your lexicon and your iPhone dictionary.

Brydie is an Australian writer and performer living in London and she complains exactly the same amount about the weather as every other Australian living in London. Yes, that is her natural lip colour, no, she will not be taking any further questions at this time.
