Hundreds Turn Out For London's World Zombie Day

Look out for the Jägermeister zombie take over this Halloween #JagerZombie

With Halloween fast approaching, hundreds of people took to the streets in London on Saturday 8th October to take part in World Zombie Day. Adorned in frightfully grotesque outfits and makeup, hoards of people marched across the capital in a scene reminiscent of The Walking Dead before converging on Piccadilly Institute for an after party that was lively enough to raise the dead. Allowing fans to come together to enjoy their shared passion for the Zombie culture, the annual event aims to raise money for charity and increase international awareness towards the issues of hunger and homelessness.

With our 50 cities taking part world wide including New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo, London's own WZD was hosted by drinks giant Jägermeister. This German brand has exploded in popularity over the last 6 years, to become what is now one of the most recognised and enjoyed herbal liqueurs in the UK. Originally more consumed by the conservative class within its native country, today Jäger has an edgy and rambunctious image and is synonymous with partying, cocktails, and a fun loving attitude. It's this brave, bold and unflinchingly dedicated drive for individuality and intrepidness that makes the Jäger a perfect partner for WZD and upcoming Halloween festivities.

As part of the Zombie walk Jäger put together a short film to depict the day in the life of two zombies in London. Starting from the moment they woke up in the morning and got ready, to when they took the tube to meet meet up with the rest of the crowd, viewers can get a unique insight in to the experiences of the living dead as they navigate the old smoke. Not least of which being all the weird looks and reactions they receive along the way.
