JK Rowling Hints There Won't Be Any More Harry Potter

Harry Potter & The Crushing Disappointment...

Fans of Harry Potter will always hold on to the faint possibility that JK Rowling may return to her most famous creation. In not killing the Boy Who Lived Off, she unwittingly encouraged the army of Potterites to grasp at spin-off rumours, sequel rumours and basically any rumour that extends the story.

Inevitably, the arrival of The Cursed Child has kicked off new suggestions: will this mark the start of a new phase of stories starring Harry Potter? Unfortunately, Rowling says no:

"He goes on a very big journey during these two plays and then, yeah, I think we're done. This is the next generation, you know. So, I'm thrilled to see it realised so beautifully but, No, Harry is done now."

Rowling has always been clear about not wanting to write more Potter stories, but the play represented the perfect opportunity to give fans something new without compromising on that. But don't expect more.

The author also shared her thanks with the fans for not posting Cursed Child spoilers on the net.

"It's the most extraordinary fandom, so I'm not surprised... they didn't want to spoil it for each other."
