Shanghai Disneyland Opening To Broadcast Across The World

Shanghai Disney is set to open with a bang this Thursday.

Shanghai Disney Resort will finally open its doors to guests on June 16th and to celebrate the occasion, the unveiling will be live broadcasted around the world.

A listing on the the Walt Disney Company official website revealed that they will be showcasing the opening celebrations on the Disney Channel, Disney Jr and Disney XD on Thursday 8pm - 8:30pm in the US. It will also be available on Freeform on Friday 17th. The event will be narrated by Sofia Carson who is best known as Evie from Disney's Descendants.

The grand opening will be something of a spectacle. Disney have confirmed that there will be fireworks, light displays and acrobats to celebrate the opening of the new park.

Bob Iger the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company will be there at Shanghai's Storybook Castle along with around 3000 guests, including officials and celebrities and not forgetting Disney's main man, Mickey Mouse.

Lang Lang, a world renowned pianist will take to the stage with a customised version of the massive hit song "Let It Go". The music doesn't stop there. The composer behind "Hero", Tan Dun has written an original song for the event. "Ignite the Dreamer Within" will make its public debut alongside other Disney classic tunes.

The television event itself is being put together from awarding winning English director Hamish Hamilton. Hamilton has directed a number of large concerts such as ones for the Rolling Stones and Madonna. He's also put together a number of television events such as the Academy Awards and the television screening of the London Olympic Opening Ceremonies.

Sadly, the event doesn't appear to be broadcasting on the Disney Channels in the UK.
