Someone Should Probably Tell Greggs About This...

Online pranksters hit the nail precisely on its head.

Oh dear. Not content with bringing down shady government agencies or outing and punishing perceived criminals, online pranksters - probably wearing V For Vendetta masks - have turned their attention to the humble sausage roll. Anyone who Googled Greggs on Tuesday - and chances are, that was a significant portion of the British population, because why wouldn't you? - will have found a new addition to the company information for the North East based mega-bakery. Rather than just offering directions to the head office, or delicious teases for whatever they've decided to put in their delightfully heart-burn causing pasties this week, there was a brand new company logo and tagline...
Despite a sales record that would make Mike Ashley salivate, there's always been something a little off about Greggs' public image - something they've tried hard to address with a documentary and a move to more classy Greggs Moments bistro-style bakeries. There tends to be a lot of snobbiness attached to their food, for some reason, though you have to imagine that most of the critics have at one time or another known the exquisite agony of burning every scrap of skin off the inside of your mouth on a Steak Bake. Still, it might be pretty harsh, but it's still very funny.
