Part of Castrol EDGE Titanium Trials

Since the turn of the 20th century Castrol has been a market leading force in the production of motoring oils and lubricants, with its distinctive red, white and green colour scheme instantly recognisable. Not least of which amongst the world of Motorsport where it has adorned the livery of cars competing in F1, the World Championship, the Dakar Rally amongst many others. As well as the involvement it has within elite sport, Castrol also makes products fit for use by the everyday driver whether it's those behind the wheel of a modest three door hatchback, family sized SUV or the hottest new supercar.

What you put in to your car directly affects the output and performance you get out of it, and more than anything this goes for engine oil - it is essential in ensuring that your motor performs to the best of its abilities, and that it is protected when performing at the the peak of its abilities. The newest range of Castrol EDGE motor oil aims to deliver at the top if its class is every aspect you need it to, with increased performance meaning it will endure for over 15k miles before requiring to be changed, optimal power to maintain viscosity under the most extreme forces, and enhanced protection through their own proprietary titanium additive. That all means that as a driver you can push performance to the upmost maximum.

To show off just what kind of impact it can have on performance, Castrol have released a series of new fun videos as part of their Titanium Trials campaign. Featuring a range of different motoring professionals and celebrities, the first sees one of the UK's most successful ever racing drivers, Darren Turner, competes against a clone of himself around the track in an Aston Martin Vulcan. A highly prestigious career that has already seen him win the McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award, working as test driver for McLaren Mercedes F1, and securing consecutive class victories in the Le Mans 24 Hours, Turner now works as a performance development driver for the Aston Martin Lagonda - all in all it's fair to say this guys knows everything there is about motor racing!

After having an initial lap time recorded out on the track the video above sees Turner as he then repeats the same lap in the same vehicle, only this time the Vulcan's engine has been replaced with Castrol EDGE. As he tears around the track watch as his ghost lap is superimposed over the top showing just how he compares, with the comms team giving him regular updates over the radio.
