Universal Orlando Resort have finally revealed the opening date of their third park, Volcano Bay. The grand opening will take place on May 25th.

From the completely unique Krakatau Aqua Coaster to Maku, the USA's first saucer slide, Volcano Bay is pushing out all the stops to make sure that its a water park like nothing you have experienced before.

One thing that separates Volcano Bay from any other theme park is the complementary waterproof wearable device TapuTapu. This wristband allows you to interact with your environment in a way that has never been done before.

TapuTapu is set to eliminate queuing at Volcano Bay. Rather than stand in a long line you simply tap your wristband on the totem at the entrance of the attraction where you will be given a return time. This means that you can go any enjoy the rest of the park, or even chill out at Waturi Beach until it's your time to ride. So no more queuing on hot stairs with your inner tubes in the baking sun, just 100% relaxation and fun.

TapuTapu also allows you to interact with the environment around you. The Universal Orlando Blog goes into some of the interactive features of TapuTapu:

You can control streams of water spurting from whales in Tot Tiki Reef or shoot water cannons at other guests snaking down Kopiko Wai Winding River. You can even illuminate images in the volcano’s hidden caves.
