Universal Orlando Resort: Cabana Bay Beach Resort Vs Aventura Hotel

We pit Universal's Prime Value hotels against each other to see which comes out top.

Located on opposite sides of Adventure Way, Universal's Aventura Hotel and Cabana Bay Beach Resort make up Universal Orlando Resort's Prime Value hotel category.

These hotels offer a great on-site experience whilst giving you amazing value for money. They are perfect if you are looking for a fun Universal getaway but want to save as many of your pennies as possible for all those in park goodies.

But despite being in the same category, these two hotels are very different. One is a fun 50s inspired 2200 room resort, the other a modern and boutique hotel.

The only question is, which is the best?

Aventura

Aventura's rooms are clean, modern and minimalistic and get top marks for technology.

Almost everything in the room can be controlled by an iPad. The tv, lights and air con are all able to be adjusted with the help of the in room device. You can even order pizza, talk to guest services and connect the tv to your Netflix account.

The rooms are spacious enough and the shower is an impressive size. There is ample wardrobe space and also a Bluetooth stereo for you to use in the room.

Guests staying at Aventura are also treated to amazing views from their bedroom. Thanks to Aventura's height you get spectacular views all around the whole resort and even over Downtown Orlando.

Cabana Bay

Cabana Bay a number of different room options to choose from. There are rooms with interior walkways and some without. You can even get a room with views across Volcano Bay. There's the standard room or even a family suite with its own kitchenette.

If you are a family and/or staying from long time then you are probably going to appreciate the family suites. The sitting area and small kitchen provide a nice break area and give you a place to eat that isn't sat in bed. The couch also folds out into a sofa bed, making the room big enough to sleep 6.

All the rooms at Cabana Bay are in-keeping with the 50s theming with bright blues and oranges. There are lots of 50s touches from the shape of the art work and pillows, to the VO5 shampoo in the bathroom.

Winner

For families the undoubted winner should be Cabana Bay Beach Resort. The suites are ideal if you need a little bit of extra space or the convenience of a kitchenette.

For everyone else it's all about the style you prefer. For me, I like the minimalist colours of Aventura and the modern features.
