Universal Orlando Reveal Details Of Their "Third Park"

Universal Orlando Resort has revealed more information about their new water theme park, Volcano Bay.

Referring to it as a third park, Universal have confirmed that Volcano Bay will be opening its doors to guests June 2017 and it will be a water park like you have never seen before.

Volcano Bay will have 18 different attractions set in four different themed areas all set against the backdrop of the volcano in question, Krakatau.

Spanning 28 acres, Volcano Bay will have a Polynesian theme and has been inspired by the lush landscaping of Pacific Islands. There are lazy pools, beaches and cabanas available to rent.

Not just a place to chill out, Volcano Bay has plenty of thrill rides.

Ko’okiri Body Plunge is a slide that takes you dropping down Krakatau, taking you through one of the pools. Maku will be North America's first "saucer" style raft ride and Puihiwill be a raft ride with a zero gravity drop.

There is also a secret attraction that will be located in the area that the lava releasing Krakatau is based in. Universal are keeping all the details of this attraction under wraps, only revealing that it will be "like nothing else in the park."

Besides having both thrilling and relaxing attractions, Universal have also confirmed that the park has been built to "eliminate hassles" for all their guests.

For a start they are claiming that they have found a way to prevent long queues. Although there are no details as to how they are going to do this, one of the biggest problems with any water parks is visitors needing to queue in the hot sun.

According to Theme Park Tourist, Wet 'n' Wild are currently testing a virtual queueing system and they are speculating that this could be a tester for what will be installed at Volcano Bay.

You also won't have to lug the tubes around when you are queueing too. Universal are taking care of that.

As part of the virtual queue, guests are using RFID wristbands, similar to Walt Disney World's Magic Band. The ones at Disney allow guests to use their wristbands to purchase items... perhaps to eliminate guests having to use cash, Universal will do something similar at Volcano Bay?

By referring to Volcano Bay as a "third park", Universal are very confident that guests will want to stay there for the full day and also that the attractions will be spectacular.

With Volcano Bay opening in just a year's time, it shouldn't be long before more details are revealed about the 18 attractions and the no line queuing system.
