Located in the South Street area of the park were those colourful Killer Klowns from Outer Space.

The 1988 cult movie, Killer Klowns from Outer Space has been something of a white whale for the team behind HHN. When we spoke to Michael Aiello, Senior Director of Entertainment Creative Development (a.k.a Mr HHN) in 2016 he told us that this was he dream IP to have at the event. Well this year he got his wish, and the team did a great job with the scare zone.

The Klowns themselves were very impressive. They look exactly like those that appear in the movie. If I'd have heard that they were the actual costumes from the film I wouldn't have been surprised.

They were slightly too big and slow moving to give you a major fright but they did an amazing job of interacting with the guests around them. There was the Klown walking his balloon dog, one with boxing gloves and even a "sexy" Klown who would tease fans and the Ice-cream men scare actors.

This scare zone really came to life as darkness fell. The neon lights worked well with the bright coloured costumes and provided an eery aspect to the area that just couldn't be achieved during the day.

If you spend any longer than a minute in Killer Klowns you are certainly going to have the music from the area playing over and over in your head days after.

I could have spent hours in this scare zone watching the Klowns interact with the park goers and with each other. Twitter has been full of praise for Killer Klowns at HHN, and I would have to agree, it's pretty excellent.
