10 Best MMA Fighters Of 2014

Who were the cream of the crop this past year?

2014 is at an end, at least so far as the major MMA promotions are concerned. The UFC had their final card of the year this past Saturday night with UFC Fight Night 58, where Lyoto Machida made short work of CB Dollaway. Bellator wound things down in November with Bellator 131 (Tito vs. Bonnar), and will not return until January; ONE FC had their last card the day before the UFC event, and don't roll again until February, while the WSOF has closed shop for the year and returns January 17th with a card headlined by Jake Shields. What that means is that the bulk of relevant action in the sport of MMA is done for the year. though we've no doubt overlooked any number of regional shows. Which brings us to this question: who were the best fighters of 2014? Who were the most effective in the cage, who surprised us, who beat the best competition, and who did so in dominant fashion? We saw some great fights, great finishes, and great upsets this year - but who came out as the best of the best? This article will take a look through all four major MMA promotions and pick the ten best fighters of 2014, ranked lowest to highest, but there are no losers on this list. Without further adieu here are the ten best MMA fighters overall from 2014!
