Norwegian youngster Odegaard arrived in Madrid to much fan-fare thanks to his dazzling displays in first-team football in his homeland.

He made his debut for Stromsgodset at just 15-years-old and Madrid immediately saw the potential in Odegaard, who had also got heads turning at international level.

The teenager subsequently moved to Madrid back in 2015 but rather than be given his chance in the first-team, he has spent most of his time with second string side Castilla, while also spending time out on loan with the likes of Vitesse and Heerenveen.

It's harsh to really say Odegaard has completely failed at Madrid as yet as he is still only 20, so time is on his side if he does want to make an impact at the Bernabeu.

However, given the anticipation over his arrival in the Spanish capital and when you look at other players such as Wayne Rooney and Lionel Messi's achievements at this age, Odegaard will be disappointed to not have made a big impact as yet.
