10 Biggest Failures In The Premier League This Season (So Far)

10. Christian Benteke (Liverpool)

We all know that Christian Benteke cost Liverpool £32.5 million. It really isn't the issue. The issue is that the former Aston Villa man simply doesn't look comfortable and aside from his wonder strike against Manchester United he hasn't looked like the powerful frontman the Liverpool supporters would have expected him to be. The Reds in general haven't performed well this season and Benteke will hope to find his level under new manager Jurgen Klopp who replaced Brendan Rodgers after Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Everton. The Belgian's Premier League return of two goals in six appearances isn't the main issue, it's more his lack of chemistry with the talented players around him. You could argue that the problem is the exact opposite and the service Benteke is receiving isn't good enough but so far it appears he is lacking a great deal of confidence. At £32.5 million you're expected to bring the X-factor with you but right now, I'd be happy just to see Benteke looking like he's comfortable in the Liverpool jersey. Klopp will be faced with finding a style that incorporates the 24-year-old's best attributes but I'd imagine the German will not tolerate the lack of fluidity across the Reds' front line for as long as Rodgers did.
