With the G1 Climax firmly in the rear view mirror, the eyes of New Japan fans turn to Wrestle Kingdom and the Tokyo Dome. Just a couple of tag team tournaments (and a handful of big events) stand between the hottest wrestling promotion on the planet and its biggest show, a pro wrestling extravaganza that seems to grow with every passing year.

Going into the G1, many fans assumed that Kenny Omega was going to headline Wrestle Kingdom 13 against one of Tetsuya Naito, Kazuchika Okada or Kota Ibushi. All three failed in their quest to win the tournament however, with grand old Hiroshi Tanahashi coming out on top. The Ace has to get through Okada and Jay White on his way to the Dome, but what lies in wait for Naito and Ibushi on 4 January?

What of Minoru Suzuki, Tomohiro Ishii, Zack Sabre Jr, Cody, The Young Bucks and the rest? NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 13 might be five months away, but what might the card look like?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
