10 Greatest UFC Signature Moves

9. Jon Jones' Spinning Back Elbow

It almost feels discourteous to highlight just one Jon Jones weapon. The man who Dana White hails as 'the best ever', owns a variety of offensive assaults. He can walk you down with ruthless flat-footed kicks, outwrestle you, dominate you on the ground, or you can stand toe to toe with him and pay the price - which doesn't leave you with many weaknesses to exploit.

'Bones' Jones is a wily character however, and his signature manoeuvre is as excruciating as it is fascinating.

The Spinning Back Elbow is designed to inflict a gruelling amount of pain on your opponent, which combines shock factor with brute force.

Jones will lure his foe into thinking he's going for a takedown (primarily a single leg) and, as the trap is in motion, Jones will rotate - sliding his right leg back to prepare for the pivot - unleashing the vicious back elbow onto the unfortunate soul.

Performed to perfection by the current Light-Heavyweight Champion, the elbow can create an opening for Jones to pummel his victims into submission or it can even open up the potential for Jones to utilise his ground game, if the victim loses balance after the collision.

If you want to see the move in its apex, check out the iteration used on Stephan Bonnar at UFC 94. It's a thing of beauty.
