10 Huge Boxing Upsets Nobody Expected To See

9. Corrie Sanders Defeats Wladimir Klitschko

It's a nod to the class of Klitschko really that he appears twice in succession on this list.

Such was the brilliance of the Ukrainian throughout his career, few could have foreseen him losing his titles to South African slugger Sanders back in 2003.

Sanders had only fought a handful of rounds in just under three years, and came into the fight in Germany as a massive underdog given Klitschko was active and still only had one loss on his record.

Amazingly, Sanders came flying out of the blocks and took less than two rounds to stop the champion in his tracks, with the referee waving the bout off with only 27 seconds of the second round complete.

Klitschko hit the deck four times as he simply failed to deal with the unexpected onslaught from Sanders.

It was a career-high moment for the man from Pretoria as he saw his next big fight against Klitschko's brother, Vitali, end in an eighth-round defeat.
