There's no denying that Dana White has his fingers firmly on the pulse of all things MMA and in establishing a UFC Performance Institute in Shanghai, China, White has made clear his plans to capitalise on the company's ever-growing Asian audience.

The base will encourage more home-grown fighters on the continent and give them the global platform needed to become a potential superstar.

Yet, without wanting to sound too biased, surely the UK - already possessing a boatload of raw talent and a ready made MMA audience - deserves its own Performance Institute, too.

Yes, you run the risk of stealing away prodigies from an exciting British independent MMA scene and thus p*ssing off a few people. But, the chance to hone your craft under the tutelage of the biggest game in town, would be too tantalising for any young British fighter to turn down.

With stars (and bonafide entertainers) like Michael Bisping and Dan Hardy going on to make a name for themselves in the company - without being trained in a UFC facility beforehand - imagine what calibre of performer could be created if given this kind of environment to grow in.
