10 Players You Didn't Know Hull Almost Signed

Not everyone buys into the fairytale.

Hull City are the modern day fairytale. Never in a million years did their supporters dream of consecutive finishes in the top-flight, an FA Cup final appearance at Wembley and a European night at the KC Stadium. Lest we forget, Hull City were languishing in League Two ten years ago, and had been there for the previous eight seasons. What has transpired since has been nothing short of a whirlwind, including four promotions and the aforementioned highlights. The Tigers are growing in confidence with every season, and are bearing their teeth as they go from strength to strength. Just in the last transfer window, nine players were acquired, as Steve Bruce looks to assemble a fearsome Hull City squad. This is no longer a squad just content with clinging on to their Premier League survival - they feel that they can compete with best, as proven by their heroic FA Cup feats of last term. However, while they have been more adventurous in the transfer market over the last few years, there have inevitably been a number of players who have remained unconvinced by the size and stature of the relative minnows of English football. Practically novices to the rigours of top-flight football, their entire history is based on surviving in the lower tiers of English football, so it's no surprise that there have been a few players who have viewed themselves as being above the KC Stadium. At the same time, however, you can't blame their ambition, as they sought to sign World Cup winners, Galacticos and former Ballon d'Or winners. Take a look at this list of ten players who almost signed for Hull City - there's a few shockers.
