The season is over, the players are either on holiday or being forced to do tours abroad to bring in money for their clubs. It is time for the rumour mill to rumble into existence once more.

With some of the biggest names in Premier League football on their way out, other players, equal in stature would be very welcome additions to the game.

Last season post-World Cup exhaustion, and then African Cup of Nations mid-season had big impacts on a number of teams, and in the end there was little contest. The only real excitement on the last day of the season was Newcastle’s great escape.

Next season promises to be much better. But who is looking to Buy Whom? Who would we like to see trotting onto perfectly manicured English fields each and every weekend?

There are some players that have already played in England who have gone on to do great things, but others who have never played for an English club could bring a lot to the Premier League. Not just class but also legacy, passing on their ability to younger British players coming up through the ranks.

English clubs are about to get richer. A new TV deal worth over £5 billion over three seasons from 2016 has been signed - more than ten times what is being paid for the TV rights to French football. With that money, British teams might actually have the cash to rival the Reals and Barcelonas of football finally.

Older, wiser and better than when he was last in the Premier League with Manchester United, this might be the perfect time for C-Ron to come back. After breaking his own record for most goals scored in a season – 61 – at Real this season, one might argue that he is at the top of his game.

In a way he is, but his golden streak has an end in sight and it is only a couple of seasons down the line. He is getting on in years. Yet another manager change at Real will have no effect on his position at the club, but it is the ideal time for him to move on.

While he was good for Man United back in the day, he never came close to the brilliance that he has provided Real as a result of his new found maturity. For one thing, he manages to stay on his feet a bit better these days, and that surely is not just down to the tapas diet.
