If you're a supporter of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, you'll know what a trial it can sometimes be to keep your head held high. The club goes through more than most, both on the pitch and off the pitch, and there's a perennial feeling of under-achievement around White Hart Lane. Spurs are a big club - of that there is absolutely no doubt - and they have a rich history that includes major successes both domestically and in Europe, and some of the best players to have ever graced an English football pitch have played for the club but, in recent years in particular, they've flattered to deceive and the only trophy they've won this side of the new millennium is the 2008 League Cup. For a club like Spurs, this simply isn't good enough. A Champions League run that saw the club win a difficult group that included Inter Milan, Werder Bremen and F.C. Twente and go on to reach the quarter finals was a recent highlight, but it doesn't go down as an honour and the trophy shelf is starting to get a little dusty.
