Note: since this article was written, Salah's move to Liverpool has since been confirmed. Original text follows...

Mo Salah was your typical Chelsea youngster. Signed for a big fee, barely featuring for the first team and farmed out on loan before being sold for an even bigger fee. He didn't get much of a shot at Stamford Bridge (something we'll be touching on again later) only making 19 appearances overall but the talent was still there for all to see, culminating in goals against Arsenal and Stoke City.

That talent tempted Fiorentina to take a punt on him, with Salah signing an 18 month loan deal, but all his performances in Florence did was attract the attention of AS Roma. The loan deal only lasted 8 months and the Egyptian international initially join Roma on loan for a fee of €5 million before making it permanent the following year, with Roma paying €15 million. "Kerching!" said Roman Abramovich.

The time in Serie A has given Salah the opportunity to blossom however and he has perhaps made Chelsea look a little short sighted for letting him go. Very much a modern forward, Salah loves taking position out wide before darting in field and making defences wet their pantaloni's. Many clubs have been keeping an eye on him but it looks like Liverpool are leading the race and a front line of containing the likes of Coutinho, Firmino, Mane and Salah will be a one to give any defence nightmares.
