Many different people have varying opinions on which is the best league in Europe. Some say Spain's La Liga is head and shoulders above the rest, others point to Germany's Bundesliga. Many more argue England's Premier League is superior. Since its inception in 1992, the Premiership has housed some of the world's greatest talents playing debatably the best brand of football on the continent. The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Eric Cantona, Frank Lampard and Thierry Henry have graced England's topflight over the last two decades, helping the Premier League attain the far-reaching global appeal it has today and turning it into a money-spinning behemoth. But that's not to say the division doesn't have its drawbacks. Over the last twenty years, the Premiership has been blighted by some truly atrocious refereeing decisions that spoil matches and wreck the spectacle of the game.
