10. Ashley Young

Jose Mourinho has been effusive in his praise of Ashley Young of late, having watched the former Villa man fill in capably at full-back, a position with which he has only recently become acquainted after spending the bulk of his career as a marauding winger.

But United's Portuguese commander is nothing if not prone to hyperbole, and Young - despite a couple of decent games - sticks out like a sore thumb from his embarrassment of Old Trafford riches, evidenced by the meager 12 league appearances he made across the whole of last season.

The 32-year-old appears content to settle into a walk-on role at the Theatre of Dreams these days, making him a useful squad player worth keeping around (although for a reported £110k a week, you probably expect a little more).
