It always adds a little something extra to a fight when the participants genuinely despise each other, as is the case with Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier.

Not only would this potentially be a great fight the pre-fight build up with these 2 characters is sure to be entertaining it certainly has been in the past.

This bout has already happened twice, with Jones emerging the victor both times, albeit the result of the 2nd fight was eventually changed to a no contest after.

However, now that Cormier currently holds the UFC heavyweight strap, it potentially gives Jones the opportunity to chase a 2nd title and have the fight contested at a different weight class.

Conversely, if Cormier wanted to shed a few pounds and try to reclaim the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship from Jones, there is plenty on intrigue there as well. After all, Jones did test positive for performance-enhancing drugs, following their 2nd encounter; so it would be interesting to see how a clean Jon Jones fairs against Cormier at this point in their respective careers.

Moreover, let's be honest, this is really the only compelling matchup for Jon Jones. Nothing against his upcoming opponent Anthony Smith, but that isn't a fight that anyone expects to be competitive or really wants to see.

Jon Jones versus Daniel Cormier would, should, and probably will happen a 3rd time.
