4 Reasons Why Andy Carroll Should Stay At Liverpool

There are some good reasons why Brendan Rodgers should keep faith with the big Geordie and give him a chance to impress.

1. Confidence, fitness and form

During his spell in red, Andy Carroll has been criticised for his fitness levels, probably a little unfairly, but towards the end of the 11-12 campaign, he began to show some of the qualities that earned him the big money move. His fitness improved greatly in the mid to end of the campaign, with him running forward and tracking back well, head held high for the first time in a year and not disappearing in games. His overall movement and game awareness improved and when on the ball he proved a dangerous player. When he turned the Blackburn game from a defeat to a win and single handily brought Liverpool back into the FA Cup final many began to believe in what FSG and Kenny Daglish had bought. With his fitness levels obviously on the up he seemed to grow in confidence, which helped him re-aquire that touch of lost form. Hell, his improved attitude and commitment even earned him an unlikely call up to the England squad, where he excelled and scored a beautiful goal. Only the return of a lacklustre Rooney scuppered his last chance to impress in white.
