5 Great UFC Main Events Lost To Injury

Jose Aldo is out! The featherweight champion has withdrawn from his second match with Chad Mendes.

twittertwitterTroubling news came out earlier this week in the UFC: Jose Aldo has fallen to injury and is out of his fight against Chad Mendes at UFC 176. This isn't the first time Aldo has been injured, but this particular ailment threatens an entire event: the UFC simply has no one to fill in for Aldo at the moment. Dana White broke the news on UFC Tonight Wednesday. With Aldo, Cain Velasquez, Johnny Hendricks, and Anthony Pettis all out with injury, Mighty Mouse and T.J. Dillashaw having fought recently, Ronda Rousey and Chris Weidman fighting at UFC 175, and Jon Jones set for a September fight, the only options seem to be moving Dillashaw's rematch with Renan Barao (expected later in August) forward, or hoping and praying that Ronda Rousey agrees to save the day and takes no damage against Alexis Davis at UFC 175 (Rousey has said she'd do it if required). That, or create an interim title. Thing is, not only is this a major disaster for the card as a whole, it costs us a great main event. Hopefully, it can be rescheduled down the road. For now, however, lets look at this, and four more great main events that we missed due to injury.
