5 Reasons Liverpool Will Beat Man City

It's the first clash of the Titans game of the season, and Brendan Rodgers will emerge victorious.

The standout game of the Premier League weekend is the clash between Manchester City and Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on Monday evening, with last season's top two doing battle in what is sure to be a fascinating game. It will be a good indication as to how far Liverpool have come during the summer, following the heartache of missing out on their first league title since 1990. They have spent big in the transfer market, and manager Brendan Rodgers appears to have made up for the loss of Luis Suarez to Barcelona in impressive style. Last season City edged a tight affair 2-1 on Boxing Day, with goals from Vincent Kompany and Alvaro Negredo cancelling out Philippe Coutinho's opener. It was a game that the Reds ultimately deserved at least a point from, and a shocking decision by the assistant referee to rule Raheem Sterling offside in the first-half proved to be a pivotal moment in the match. Although there are many rival supporters who feel Suarez's exit will see Liverpool disappear straight back out of the top four, there is no reason why Rodgers' side can't mount another genuine title challenge. They will not fear City, and will feel they can pick up a win at one of the most daunting grounds to visit in the country on Monday. Here are five reasons why Brendan Rodgers' side will beat Man City. Do you agree?
