5 Signs That Leicester City Are The New Blackburn Rovers

5. A Non-English Manager With Proven Experience

Chelsea, Juventus, Inter Milan... One day Leicester City could be right up there with the best. Ranieri and Dalglish are both 64 years-old and while the Italian's record on the field could never match that of the Scottish Lionel Messi, his European managerial career is certainly favourable. Abroad Claudio won three trophies at Valentia including the Copa Del Rey, the Copa Italiana with Fiorentina and league promotions at Cagliari and Monaco. In Ranieri's first spell in England he overhauled the Chelsea squad under Roman Abramovich by turning a successful cup side into near title-winning machines and true Champions League contenders, thanks to the hungry young signings of Frank Lampard, Joe Cole and Petr Cech. He also gave John Terry the captain's armband. At Leicester, the Tinkerman already has a better win percentage than he did at Chelsea (the second-best of his career), while Dalglish was equally on top form when he joined Rovers. Both managers turned down several job opportunities elsewhere in the Premier League, preferring to wait for the right club and the right owner.
