The Naples club were unfortunate to exit the Champions League at the quarter final stage last season. At the San Paolo the home team thrashed Chelsea 3-1 but in the second leg at Stamford Bridge the eventual winners overturned the score with a 4-1 victory. Walter Mazzarri prefers Napoli to play with three at the back which has proved successful for them but they lacked the quality at the back to stop Branislav Ivanovic scoring an extra-time winner. Azzurri are currently nine points from nine and with the quality they have up front they may even put up a title challenge. Edison Cavani is one of the best strikers in Europe: 69 goals in 97 appearances is an exceptional ratio. In Christian Maggio they have a very dangerous winger, Marek Hamsik is one of the most fancied central midfielders in Italy and Lorenzo Insigne shows huge potential. The main problem facing Napoli is their ambition. Inter Milan have been patchy for the past couple of seasons, AC have been stripped of their best players as have Udinese meaning they have their best opportunity to regain a Champions League place. If they can improve their away form they could and should be back in the Champions League in no time.
