50 MMA Fights You Must Watch Before You Die

49. Yoshihiro Takayama Vs. Don Frye - Pride 21

Despite Pride Fighting Championships losing the battle for MMA supremacy to the UFC, the impact they had on the sport will be felt forever. One of the Pride fights that has stood the test of time is the crazy heavyweight match-up between ultimate tough guy, Don Frye, and legendary Japanese professional wrestler, Yoshihiro Takayama.

This quickly turned from a normal heavyweight bout to probably one of the most intense test of wills in MMA history. From the moment the fight began, these two giants clinched onto each other's heads and begun to throw an insane flurry of punches at each other, aiming solely for the head and nothing else. It was pure chaos as both men forgot about defence and went on the all-out attack.

Eventually, after flooring Takayama and landing several heavy shots from the mount position, Frye gained the victory. However, it wasn't one earned from technical skill, but from simply being the toughest man in the ring.
