7 Footballers To Play For Both NUFC And Leicester City

Danny Simpson isn't the only former Magpie to become a Fox.

Newcastle United and Leicester City are both Premier League clubs this season - but in theory just one, or possibly even neither, could be in the top-flight for the next campaign as they struggle to hold off the threat of relegation. The Magpies occupy 14th place in the table, five points above the dropzone, while the Foxes are just three places below them and just a solitary point from the bottom three. With both sides meeting at the King Power Stadium on Saturday lunchtime (12.45pm kick-off), their managers know that a victory would likely ensure their team's status in the Premier League for another season. Leicester have been in the Premier League for a total of nine of its 23 seasons to date, while Newcastle have been present for all but two campaigns - and hundreds of players have passed through the doors at those two clubs in that time. With the Foxes' Danny Simpson the only currently-active player to have represented the two clubs, there have been many to play for both down the years - including during the Premier League era. Here are seven players to represent both Newcastle United and Leicester City football clubs in the Premier League era.
