7 Newcastle Players Who Deserve A Chance To Help The Magpies Survive

NUFC need some inspiration right now - can these players provide it?

With just four games remaining in the Premier League season Newcastle United find themselves in 14th position in the table, just five points from safety, and having increased their recent losing run to seven matches. The current game plan is simply not working, and John Carver could - and should - look deep within his squad in an attempt to shake things up in the Magpies first team. It has gone stale and the present formula has Newcastle dive-bombing towards the relegation zone and, potentially, even the Championship. Newcastle are conceding an alarming number of goals at one end of the pitch and they are failing to score enough at the other. Leicester City are the Magpies' next opponents on Saturday at the King Power Stadium, before Newcastle host West Bromwich Albion, then travel to Queens Park Rangers, and then finally face West Ham United at St James' Park. Just one win would almost certainly be enough to keep Newcastle in the top flight, but at the moment those three points look a very long way away. However, there are some players within the Newcastle squad - be they untried youngsters or squad players who have a point to prove - who deserve an opportunity before the season is out. Here are seven players Newcastle United could potentially turn to in their bid for survival - and who deserve the opportunity to prove themselves during the run in.
