One year left for these Magpies - what do they need to do to stay on Tyneside beyond next summer?

A raft of Premier League players hit the free agent list as the summer transfer window finally opened this month, with many clubs now looking to rebuild their squads over the next two months ahead of the 2015-16 campaign. As well as those out of contract this summer, players with one year left to go on their Newcastle United contracts also need to do some serious deliberating as they attempt to secure themselves a new deal going forward. The Magpies have no less than nine players who have featured for the first team facing the prospect of joining the dole queue this time next year - or at the very least searching for pastures new. Typically with a new boss in charge, everyone is looking to impress but for these members of the squad whose future are up in the air, it is key that they make an impact if they want to boost their employability under Steve McClaren. Jonas Gutierrez, Ryan Taylor, Jak Alnwick and - that man - Facundo Ferreyra were all given their marching orders this summer while Sammy Ameobi's future is still largely unclear, so here are the nine fighting from their futures post 2016 (as well as a few tips for them if they want to stick around)...
