Alan Pardew: 4 Moments Of Madness From Newcastle Boss

Alan Pardew is no stranger to controversy, a characteristic which makes him perfect for the job as manager of Newcastle United. The Magpies supremo's erratic behaviour certainly gives the papers plenty to talk about, but unfortunately not always for the right reasons. Pardew's latest moment of craziness came in a well earned away win to Hull this Saturday; we can only assume he must have been bored at watching his side seemingly coasting to victory against an uninspiring Hull City. Whatever the reason, the Newcastle boss grabbed an opportunity to liven up proceedings in the second half. He picked his moment to perfection when David Meyler, formerly of Sunderland, scampered out of play to retrieve a ball for a throw in. Without a moment's hesitation Pardew leapt into action, head butting the Hull man before finding himself banished to the stands in disgrace. In what can only be seen as an act of immense self-reflection, Pardew commented post-match that "I will have to sit down from now on because that is about two or three incidents I'm involved in... I didn't mean to do anything aggressive or anything but I did put my head forward and that is enough I think. It will teach me to sit down." After today's events, the odds on the Newcastle boss being the next Premier League manager to pick up his P45 have been slashed. While we are wait to see what kind of punishment Pardew will face for his latest act of madness, read on as we remember with fondness four other occasions when it's all got a bit too much for Alan.
