Arsenal Approach Real Madrid Striker Who Is Not Against A Move

Could Karim Benzema be Arsene Wenger's second signing of the summer?

Arsenal have made contact with Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema, according to El Confidencial. The Spanish media outlet claim that Benzema did not say "no" to the Arsene Wenger's approach as it remains unclear if new Madrid manager Rafa Benitez has the French international in his first team plans. The 27-year-old scored 22 goals in 38 games for Los Blancos last season but reports suggest that the former Napoli boss is intending on giving Cristiano Ronaldo the number nine role for the upcoming campaign. Arsenal are reportedly still in the market for a striker and the 27-year-old would certainly bolster his current options and show serious intent on trying to win their first Premier League title since 2003/2004. Arsenal have only signed Petr Cech from Chelsea this summer and reports suggest if Wenger wanted to bring the Real Madrid striker to the Emirates he would have to pay ‚35 million.
