Debuchy is currently at the World Cup with France, who play Germany in the quarter-finals, and has caught Wenger's attention as the Frenchman seeks a replacement for Man City bound Sagna. The 28-year-old right back has previously stated his desire to play in the Champions League and Arsenal can certainly offer that after qualifying for Europe's premier competition for a 17th consecutive season. However, any deal for Debuchy is unlikely to be completed until after France's participation in the World Cup. They play Germany on Friday. Debuchy only signed for the Magpies in January 2013 after completing a switch from Lille, and is 18 months into a five-and-a-half year contract. It is understood that if the fullback does finalise a move to the Emirates, then Newcastle will turn to City's out-of-favour Micah Richards to replace him. Richards has only one year left on his deal with the Citizens, who have told him he can leave this summer after he rejected the chance to extend his contract with the Premier League champions.
