Arsenal Transfer News: Alex Song Wants Emirates Return?

song Alex Song misses Arsenal and wants to return after growing disillusioned with life at Barcelona, according to the metro. The former Gunners midfielder only left the Emirates last summer but appearances have been hard to come by at the Nou Camp and the Cameroonian is becoming frustrated with lack of first team action, having featured in just 15 games this season. According to his cousin Rigobert, the midfielder misses the first team action he enjoyed at Arsenal under Arsene Wenger. He explained:
"Barcelona put so much effort into signing him last summer, and Alex turned down many great teams in order to sign with them." "But this season he has only been a substitute. He is not happy. "At Arsenal he was a leader on and off the field €“ he doesn€™t feel like this in Spain and it makes him feel bad."
Inter Milan and Manchester City have reportedly been linked with a move for Song recently, but it is believed he would only consider returning to England with Arsenal, seemingly dashing the hopes of the latter. Song's miserable debut season at the Nou Camp was compounded at the end of December when, along with Luka Modric, he was voted one of the worst La Liga signings of the season. He has only scored one goal for his new club and has provided the same number of assists this season. Song spent six seasons at the Emirates, making 217 appearances in that period of time.
