According to Tribal Football, Manchester City are set to offer Edin Dzeko AND a fee of £15 million for Arsenal’s unsettled striker Robin Van Persie.
The Premier League champions have been strongly linked with a move for the 28-year-old Dutch international ever since Van Persie announced his intention to leave the Emirates. City manager Roberto Mancini, who himself just committed his future to the Blues by signing a long-term contract, is desperate to add the prolific striker to Manchester City in order to further strengthen his goal to retain the Premier League title.
City are trying to sweeten the deal between the two clubs by adding 26-year-old forward Edin Dzeko to the deal, who is reportedly admired highly by Arsene Wenger. The Bosnia and Herzegovina international striker has failed to force himself into City’s first team ever since joining the club in 2011 in a £27 million deal and has been stuck behind Sergio Aguero, Mario Balotelli, and Carlos Tevez. He is likely to start next season as fourth choice striker.
With Wenger confirming he doesn’t want to waste money on Van Persie’s replacement, the Arsenal boss may see the Dzeko deal as an advantage to add to his squad without having to spend. Dzeko has scored 16 goals in 45 appearances for City but his record at former German club Wolfsburg is what brought him to the Premier League, scoring 66 goals in 111 appearances.

If van Persie wants to go the other side, why not bring in Dzeko? I think the deal is better than running the contract to lose van persie for nothing next season. The good thing with the 15 million GBP is that they can add Dzagoev too. So One for two! This is great deal! Run for it arsenal!
ur riight boss…
That sums it up you are 19 years old and you are suggesting crap stories
dats the best deal wenger could ever get, edwin dzeko is 26 nd rvp is 28 nd also injury prone so why nt go 4 d deal…
Suggesting? reporting from a source? 2 completely different things… thanks for reading :)
vanpersie was terrific last season, world class but does not want to play for the gunners any more probably for financial reasons etc, I seem to remember him being injured for the previous two or three seasons maby more and only playing a handful of games, wenger kept the faith in him then, who is to say that he will not have another injury packed season. i was very surprised that he didnt get any more injuries. edin djeko has come off the bench for city many times and saved there ass when mancini was lost on the sideline for solutions.I strongly believe that Djeko is a terrific strong athletic striker capabale off scoring many times for the Gunners and if we get some cash as well, its a done deal for me.
Actually this fortunte for Arsenal. ManC are desperate request 4 Adam johnson too + Dzeko + 15m pds that wld b so gret Van is injury r prone we don’t know next season
a time comes when one wishes i wish n it will be 2 late.Rvp if he goes one day he will rem the guns,we are tiered of him being begged like adog. we have pple like podolsk who can make it.
No way, unless……..unless…..he accepts Arsenal’s wage structure. Refer to Ade to Spurs…….so little…..5M.
MC get rid of him because of high wages?
what the best deal Wenger can do is quickly pushing Robin and replace with the likes of Lewandowsk.
It is a gr8 oppor2nity 4 gunners if d deal can be sealed as it was said by macini, taking RVP & giving out Dzeko plus £15million. It is a gr8 oppor2nity dat shld be grabbed by Arsene Wenger.
You Arsenal fans can’t make up your minds what you want. One minute you want a world class striker to replace RVP and then next accept Dzeko as a viable replacement. Step back and consider why Man City don’t play him and continue to look for other strikers. If Arsenal is going to deliver what the fans want in terms of trophies, they need to sign top class strikers that are currently performing and not with reputations from bygone seasons. I would also add that Arsenal’s style of play would not lend itself to Dzeko as him link play is something to be desired. Forget second rate strikers and spend money on the best – then when the player has performed in the Premier League, Arsenal can sell them!
I think the deal is great but: we should look in to our defence as well. I think our defence is not what u’ll rate a world class defence. We need to get rid of Sagna and find a good replacement, maybe get a good side 2 from the German league or Dutch league.
Arsenal is a great team with good quality players but i think we haven’t had much luck on our side. I know things will definitely turn around for our good, lets pray for Jack’s return. And let us keep the faith. I promise u guys we will win the “EPL or UCL”. I just know its something BIG.
A replacement for Sagna???
A replacement for sagna he’s one of the world’s best right backs
1. If this rumour is true, take it. No probs having Dzeko AND 15 mill in the bank to buy a great centreback (which is what we need) I’m happy to give Gibbs another go this season, but I don’t think a more experienced left back should be ruled out. Lastly, we need a “holding” midfielder, Wilshere is great, but c’mon, it’s too much pressure for him right now. One thing I will say with confidence, if we have podolski, giroud and Dzeko next season we will make top 3 with ease and even compete for the cups (so long as we get a CB and a MF!!) sign away wenger.
I don’t think city will sign Rvp at the end of the day. B’cose theres too much speculation about him moving from Emirate to Etihad. Arsenal should make sure that they replace rvp with a player of Edin Dzeko type from city or else they will regrate. Giroud will bring change, but podoski is nomore at his peak again. My advice to rvp is that he should not go to city, alot of things re involve… He should go where he will enjoy playing time. Tevez and co are there and i don’t see any posibility of him benching mario, don’t go for huge pay go for where you will last cose if eventualy injuries come you still have a space.
….people jst talking of Rvp all d time…me tired of dis crap. Who is he…jst one free season without injury. I want to leave…rvp ws on top last season cos of his team mate work(song n co)n formation of a lone striker which can never match city formation. Leavin 4 city we be d last thing hd shld fink of…wel let him go n edin, giroud n podoskw can make a gud n huge impact..n remember gunner’s problem is nt attack..it’s defence.
