Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners Interested In Micah Richards?

Mirror. The Gunner's are looking to find a solution to their injury crisis and start splashing the cash to appease worried fans following a nightmare start to their Premier League campaign. Manager Arsene Wenger has been criticised for not making any serious headway in this summer's transfer market with his only purchase so far being Yaya Sanogo from Auxerre on a free. And, following Laurent Koscielny's suspension until early September following his red card in the 3-1 home defeat to Aston Villa at the weekend, coupled with Thomas Vermaelen's back injury that will rule him out until the middle of next month, Wenger is lining up a bid for Richards. Richards, who has just returned following five months out with a knee injury, was limited to just seven Premier League games last season and is keen on a move to the Emirates if it means getting more playing time. The arrival of the 25-year-old right-back would allow Wenger to push Barcary Sagna to centre-half as cover for Vermaelen and Koscielny. Meanwhile, Wenger has not given up his pursuit of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, despite seeing him make peace with his club, while he has also sounded out Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney's representatives.
