Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners Make £45m Bid For Bundesliga Top Scorer

Could Arsenal be about to tighten their grip on the Premier League title?

Arsenal have launched a £44.6 million bid to lure Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund, according to Spanish journalist Kike Martin. https://twitter.com/Kike_Marin_/status/685042766418735104 Aubameyang is one of Arsenal's long-term transfer targets, with The Mail reporting back in June that the club were considering a move for the Gabon international. Despite his sparkling form for Borussia Dortmund this season, a failure to report to training earlier in the week has led to speculation that the player himself is now pushing for the move. The report follows a whirlwind of rumour since the missed training session, with a reunion with former boss Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool also being reported in Don Balon. However Arsenal appear to have beaten all their rivals to the punch with this early bid. With an elusive (and seemingly unlikely at the start of the season) Premier League title looking to be within Arsenal's grasp, the club appear to be wasting no time strengthening their squad. After adding only one first-team player to the squad in the summer, The Gunners find themselves 2 points clear at the summit of the Premier League table. More importantly, with Chelsea and Manchester United both seemingly out of the running already, they're also in a great position to end a 12 year wait for a league success.
