Arsenal Transfer News: Julio Cesar Fuels Gunners Transfer Speculation

julio cesar Relegated Queens Park Rangers' goalkeeper Julio Cesar has fuelled speculation as to his next move by claiming he has entered talks with a Premier League club - understood to be Arsenal. QPR are desperate to lighten their hefty wage bill and will allow the Brazilian to go on the cheap, despite signing him from Inter Milan only last year. The Gunners are seeking a new No.1 after the uncertainty surrounding incumbent goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, who looks set to be displaced next season. But the Brazil international, set to face England in Sunday's prestige international friendly, also suggested there was interest from clubs elsewhere in Europe. He said:
€œI am in negotiations with other clubs in England and from other countries but there€™s still not been anything definitive. €œI am concentrating on Brazil, I still have a deal with QPR, but I also know I have to prove that I should be in the squad for the World Cup in 2014.€
Cesar made the sensational move from Inter Milan to Loftus Road only last summer for an undisclosed fee, with the Italian club also keen to get the player off their wage bill following their own financial difficulties. The Brazilian won the Champions League with Jose Mourinho's Inter in 2010 and is also a five-time Serie A winner. He was named Serie A Goalkeeper of the Year for two consecutive seasons between 2008-09 and 2009-10 and was also named UEFA Club Goalkeeper of the Year later that year. Cesar has three years remaining on his contract with QPR but earlier this month confirmed this season would be his first and last at the club.
