Arsenal Transfer News: Paul-Georges Ntep Takes Eurostar To Gunners?

Arsenal target Paul-Georges Ntep appears to be on his way to the Emirates Stadium for talks after the Auxerre attacker posted a picture of his meal on the Eurostar on Instagram. Caught Offside believes this signifies that the Cameroon-born France Under-21 international was travelling to London and specifically the Gunners. According to the Independent, Arsene Wenger has moved for Ntep because of his injury crisis up front.
Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner are all missing through injuries and illness. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain meanwhile is still rehabbing after knee surgery. That leaves Germany centurion Lukas Podolski and reserve team player Park Ju-Young as the only available senior forwards. Wenger has reportedly been quoted a price of £8 million for Ntep, who is regarded as one of the hottest properties outside the French top flight. Arsenal are not alone in their interest in the 21-year-old, however. Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach are understood to be favourites to sign Ntep. He has scored 15 goals in 42 Ligue 2 games for Auxerre. If Wenger lands Ntep he will be eligible to play in the Champions League knockout stages for the Gunners against Bayern Munich. In other Arsenal news, the revelation that Schalke star Julian Draxler has a £40 million buyout clause in his contract has not cooled their interest in the German.
