Bayern Munich might be on the verge of handing unhappy Mesut Ozil a route back to Germany, after reports linked the German giants with a £30m move for the midfielder. According to TeamTalk, the £42.5m mega-signings has become disillusioned with life in North London and wants to return to Germany as soon as possible, despite recent assurances that he has nothing to prove after being ruled a flop by critics. If true, that could mean he has played his last game for Arsenal having been ruled out for three months with a knee injury. Ozil previously lit up the Bundesliga in his time at Werder Bremen, which earned him a £15m move to Real Madrid in 2010. And he could be set for a sensational return to his homeland, though Paris St Germain are also interested in adding his particular set of skills to their team. That would presumably mean even less first team football for Yohan Cabaye, which could be the final straw in his unhappiness at not being allowed to play since his move from Newcastle last January. Arsene Wenger has refused to criticise the attacking midfielder, even with the tide of Arsenal fans turning against him, but it has become increasingly obvious that the Frenchman is unsure of where Ozil fits into his side best, and how he should set up his midfield and attack. With new signing Alexis Sanchez taking the star billing, it was always likely that something would have to give. Teamtalk suggest that Wenger would use some of the £30m generated by selling the German to make a bid for compatriot Sami Khedira, who has been made available by Real Madrid, and is the type of midfielder the Gunners have missed this season. Robert Pires has already called him a "must-buy" for the club, and with his contract running out in the summer, he could be a nicely affordable option for Wenger.
