With the transfer window now open, rumours are emerging left, right and centre linking Arsenal to a number of players from around Europe. There are always concerns over how foreign players would settle in to the Barclays Premier League however, so What Culture looks at five ready made, Premier League proven players that would mean Arsenal compete for the title next season.
5. Christian Benteke
The 22 year old Aston Villa frontman has shown no signs of needing a bedding in period after a debut season in which he tore up Premier League defences, scoring 23 goals in his first season. The young Belgian gained rave reviews from pundits and fans alike, affectionately nicknamed 'Bentekkers' by the Villa Park faithful. His monster strength and clinical finishing have made him a deadly goalscoring weapon, exactly the kind of player Arsenal could do with. Arsenal enjoyed a season where goals were evenly distributed amongst their front line, with four players notching over 10 Premier League goals this season. The lack of a natural finisher has cost them this season however, with Olivier Giroud performing brilliantly as a target man, yet displaying some uncertainty in front of goal. The addition of Benteke would give Arsenal a goalscoring outlet which they currently lack, a player that can score from anywhere and win crucial games.
