Arsenal Transfers: Could Gunners Push Through £22m Turan Deal?

Turkish boot thrower could be on his way out of Madrid.

According to a report from the Daily Star, Arsene Wenger is looking to strike a big-money, £22million deal for Atletico Madrid's Turkish star Arda Turan in the wake of the midfielder's apparent fall out with manager Diego Simeone. Turan has already attracted interest from both Liverpool and Manchester United, and Arsenal have sent scouts out to run the rule over him, and he would be a strong addition to any of the Premier League's top sides. He will also inevitably attract interest from other European heavy-weights, with the Star name-checking Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Roma as potential suitors. If Wenger could pull this deal off before the end of the winter window, it would represent exactly the kind of tent-pole opportunity that he mentioned when he stated he wouldn't be doing any incoming business today unless something big landed at his door. Turan is something of a passionate player - some might say to his detriment - and his fall-out with Simeone comes after he was caught on film throwing his boot at a linesman during the recent Copa Del Rey clash with Barcelona. If he doesn't move today, he's likely to be moved out in the summer. Do you think Arsenal should break the bank to bring in Arda Turan last minute? Share your thoughts below in the comments thread.
