Arsenal Transfers Failure: 10 Deals Wenger Should Have Completed

10. Antonio Sanabria

The young Paraguayan has long been admired by Arsene Wenger and Arsenal were repeatedly linked to the player, until it was announced he was heading to Roma. The starlet had refused to sign a new contract at Barcelona and was very much available. He wanted to move and he got that in the end but the Gunners should have swooped. Sanabria would surely have accepted as the attraction of Arsenal and the Premier League is larger than that of Roma and the Serie A. Arsenal have a track record of pinching young players from the Spanish giants, with Cesc Fabregas being the prime example. There's also a few young players from Barca currently in the youth set-up. Why Arsenal didn't go for this man baffles me. It was a surefire deal if the club were willing to do the work. They didn't and now they could pay the price in the future.
