Arsenal vs Fenerbache Match Preview - Arsene Wenger Feels The Heat

What has now become a game of even greater importance after Saturday's disastrous result against Aston Villa, Arsenal travel to Fenerbache in the first leg of their Champions League qualifier on Wednesday. With Arsene Wenger now acting like a demented contestant in Supermarket Sweep trying to snap up any bargain he can find, notice only at the right price though, defeat in this tie would surely leave his position as untenable. Fenerbache as luck would have it have their own problems with a European ban hanging over them for alleged match fixing and on the back of a disastrous result at the weekend. The Istanbul giants, playing their first league game under new coach Ersun Yanal, had led 2-0 at the Konya Ataturk Stadium with less than 15 minutes remaining but somehow managed to lose 2-3 against newly promoted Konyaspor. Ex Liverpool and Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles has started the psychological warfare by stating the bleeding obvious that Arsenal are under pressure but it will be interesting to see how Wenger's under fire side react in the intimidating atmosphere in Istanbul. Arsenal have had some good news on the injury front with Sanga, Ramsey and Gibbs all expected to be fit after picking up knocks on Saturday. Only the unfortunate Oxlade-Chamberlain misses the trip due to a long term knee injury. I expect Arsenal to gain at least a draw on Wednesday night to take a little pressure of their beleaguered manager as he continues to negotiate his trolley looking for all important signings.
