Aston Villa Vs Spurs: 5 Things We Expect To See

Villa-Park On Sunday afternoon (4pm KO), Aston Villa play host to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. The two teams have already met at Villa Park once this season, in the League Cup - a match which finished with Spurs emerging as comfortable 4-0 winners - but this will be an all round different affair as both teams won't be fielding weakened sides as they did in that one. Prior to the international break, the two sides involved in this match experienced very different fortunes; Villa came away from Hull City with a point following a 0-0 draw, while Spurs suffered a humiliating 3-0 home defeat against London rivals West Ham United. Villa currently lie in twelfth place, with Tottenham in seventh and a win would send each team in to seventh or fifth respectively. Here are five things we expect to see when Spurs travel to Birmingham to take on Aston Villa...

5. Benteke's Return

Christian Benteke, who has been injured for Aston Villa's last few matches, travelled with Belgium during the international break - and the fact that he was on the bench in their last match against Wales on Tuesday would suggest that he should be fit in time to start this one. When Spurs visited Villa Park in the League Cup last month, the home team didn't really threaten the Tottenham defence all game and, with Benteke back in their ranks, that will change. The Villains will be desperate for the big Belgian to get back in amongst it - he is their star player, after all - and if he is fit to play, he undoubtedly will play.
